QTSC and SSIA deepen semiconductor cooperation
Quang Trung Software City Development Co., Ltd. (QTSC) and the Singapore Semiconductor Industry Association (SSIA) have signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at strengthening cooperation between Vietnam's emerging semiconductor ecosystem and Singapore's regional industry network. The cooperation covers investment promotion, business matching, research and development, technology transfer, workforce training and broader international connectivity across the semiconductor value chain.
The partnership is particularly relevant because Vietnam is no longer looking only at assembly capacity. The country is also working to strengthen capabilities in IC design, packaging and testing, R&D infrastructure and talent development. For technology parks, training institutions and local enterprises, cooperation with Singapore provides a bridge to more mature semiconductor supply chains and global customer networks.
Gia Lai approves 42MW wind project as clean-power pipeline grows
Gia Lai Province has approved in principle the Ia Le 2 wind power plant, with planned capacity of 42MW and total investment of around VND1.468 trillion. The project is part of the Ia Le wind power complex and is expected to generate approximately 123,780.8 MWh of electricity per year. Construction is scheduled to begin in March 2027, with commercial operations targeted for March 2028.
The project is expected to connect to the national grid through the 220kV Pleiku 2–Krong Buk transmission line. For Gia Lai, the approval reflects the province's continued effort to make better use of local renewable energy resources, while adding clean electricity supply, supporting industrial activity and creating additional local economic value.
Vietnamese manufacturing accelerates the "AI + Green" transition
Vietnam's manufacturing sector is facing a new competitiveness equation. In addition to cost, scale and delivery speed, export-oriented manufacturers increasingly need to demonstrate traceability, reliable production data, quality consistency, energy performance and compliance with green standards.
AI, IoT, big data and digital systems can help factories monitor energy use, improve decision-making, optimise resources and manage supply-chain information. At the same time, carbon reporting, traceability and ESG-related data are becoming part of how global buyers evaluate supplier capability. This means digital transformation and green transformation are becoming linked: factories that can produce, measure, verify and report data more accurately will be better positioned for demanding export markets.
Why these developments matter together
Although the three updates appear to come from different fields, they share one direction. Semiconductor cooperation strengthens the technology supply foundation; wind energy investment expands the clean-power base; and AI-enabled green manufacturing improves industrial competitiveness. Together, they point to a more integrated development model in which energy, computing power, industrial data and human talent all become essential infrastructure for Vietnam's next phase of growth.
